The Lemonheads to release "Varshons" in March 2009

Lemonheads frontman/guitarist Evan Dando posted a message on the band’s blog explaining the delay and forthcoming release of the band’s delayed covers album, Varshons . The record had been slated for a September 2008 release: This most recent Euro tour was a bit difficult . The tour was supposed to coincide with the release of Varshons . By the time the record got pushed back , it was too late too cancel . We had to go out for 6 weeks with nothing to promote . Once i got my attitude together we were half way done . Things started to pick up for me in Milan. the last two weeks were fantastic. Produced by Cornershop’s Anthony Safferty and Butthole Surfers frontman Gibby Haynes, Varshons will feature a variety of tracks from GG Allin, Wire, Leonard Cohen, Christina Aguilera, Fuckemos and more. Guest performances include vocals from actress Liv Tyler on Leonard Cohen’s “Hey, That’s No Way To Say Goodbye,” and model Kate Moss guests on Arling & Cameron’s “Dirty Robot.”
